Have you ever faced the
situation where you wanted
to edit the content of a
scanned file and were unable
to do so? Well, now you can
instantly edit scanned files by changing the file format.
Here are the steps on how to
convert a scanned document
into Microsoft Word. When you scan any
document, your scanner gives you a list of file formats to
save the file in, but these
cannot be edited. If you want
to edit it, you have to go
through the cumbersome
process of rewriting or rescanning the document with
relevant changes. You can
save time and effort by
simply changing a few
settings on your computer. By
doing so, you will get the scanned document in a .doc
format, which can then be
edited.
*Please note: For carrying out the edit work, you will have to install Microsoft Office
Document Imaging, which is
not a default program.Enable Microsoft Office Document Imaging=>If you are a Windows 7 or Vista user, go to Start - Control Panel - Programs -
Programs and Features. For XP users, go to Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Remove a Program.
=>In the list of programs that appear, navigate to Microsoft Office edition and right click. Select Change from the drop- down box that appears.
=>You will be redirected to Change your installation...
page. Select the Add or Remove Features option, and click Continue.
=>Now, expand the Office Tools option, and click on Microsoft Office Document
