Thomas Vermaelen has joined As Roma on season-long loan from Barcelona
Thomas Vermaelen who is a centre-back left Arsenal in the summer of 2014 for £15million, but injury kept him sidelined until the final game of his first season and Barcelona.
He has failed to clinch on a starting place at the Barcelona, and now joins Roma with the potential for a permanent move at the end of the season.
There is an option for the Italian club to make the move permanent
The Belgian played 21 times for Barcelona in his two years at the club, scoring once in the process.
Thomas Vermaelen, who has reportedly been tagged with £25m, has once been a target for Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
