Indications emerged on Tuesday that EPL big spenders, Chelsea are looking to bolster their midfield by signing highly rated French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba who is currently signed to Seria A champions, Juventus has been attracting interest from several clubs across Europe but Juve has consistently maintained that they have no intention of parting ways with their prized asset.
However, it is believed that Juventus have decided to cash-in on the midfielder so as to fund moves for other targets. The Seria A side are said to be interested in signing Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona but they donít have the needed funds to rival the £30 million bid tabled by Arsenal for the player.
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho is believed to be a longtime admirer of Pogba and is prepared to make a move for the player. Mourinho have already spent £60 million on Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa this summer. The Portuguese coach still has money to spend; however, he needs to sell some of his players so as to meet the £60 million asking price Juventus placed on Pogba.
To this end, Mourinho is looking to offload Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel to provide the necessary funds for Pogba transfer. Already, former European champions, Inter Milan and Napoli have indicated interest in signing the player with a reported £10 million bid being considered for the Nigerian.
Apart from Mikel, Chelsea are also looking to cash-in on Brazilian midfielder, Ramires. Real Madrid are believed to be on the trail of the midfielder and the Blues will be willing to do business if the right offer came in.
Mourinho needs to move fast if he hopes to capture Pogba as French champions, PSG are have also been alerted to the availability of the player.
