African News / What you need to know about perfect picture editing
« on: December 08, 2014, 12:59:54 AM »
Well this might sound a little awkward "PICTURE EDITING" Hun, well I’m a photographer and a lover of picture and virtually all my pictures undergo surgery before coming online, well that started early this year...just in case you see the ugly ones. Ok, well thanks to the innovation of smartphones and their cameras (smart cams) everyone could get a very good quality shot. Well forget the uniqueness, just a shot and that's where the almighty friend comes in. "Photo Editing", we got lots of app for that, to name a few:  befunky, Photoshop express (mobile edition)...And some confusing ones can't remember their name now, plus those I don’t even know exist, you know them. Most smartphones comes with their editors, but they are not as cool as the apps you would have to look for and install. To help get clearer and better edits, when taking the picture try not to some, if possible move closer. And if you must zoom do not zoom too much so you still get a good quality shot, you could crop, helps most times.
I still wonder why people would upload very annoying pictures that could be made awesome with just a little edit, and also why people would over do the edit and post, tsk don't know what I’m going to call it. But leave that for that...the change is here. If you’re reading this and you using a smartphone, it’s expected you to download the app/s i mentioned earlier. They are cool and easy to use. And if you don't understand and need help hala me here delino.ndu@gmail.com, I’ll try to reply you ASAP. And please remember, don't overdo it, just keep it low, sweet and awesome. At this point I think I should run a tutorial on take personal pictures here, what do you think?
Check this out, shot and edited by my smart phone:

Global / World News / My research on EBOLA (read carefully)
« on: August 03, 2014, 05:06:40 PM »
Producing a disease called Ebola fever, this virus was first documented in July 1976 when it struck a small village in Sudan. Victims became fevered and began to bleed, much as they do with Lassa fever. Ebola killed half the people it infected. In September it struck again, in Zaire, seemingly more virulent than before. Sweeping through more than 50 villages, it killed 90 percent of its victims. To prevent an explosive epidemic in the capital city, Kinshasa, the Zairean government sealed off all roads into the afflicted area.

Ebola and Marburg Hemorrhagic Fevers, deadly viral diseases characterized by massive bleeding and destruction of internal tissues. The closely related Ebola and Marburg viruses can be highly contagious through contact with infected bodily fluids. Both diseases have high fatality rates and together have caused more than 1,500 deaths in parts of Africa since the 1970s. Ebola virus is named for the Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the virus was first identified in 1976. Marburg virus is named for Marburg, Germany, where the virus was isolated in 1967 after an outbreak among laboratory workers who came in contact with body parts of African monkeys. As well as affecting humans, Ebola has killed large numbers of gorillas and chimpanzees in some areas of Africa.

The animal hosts of the viruses remain largely unknown, but evidence points to the role of fruit bats as possible natural hosts (called reservoir hosts) of Ebola virus. Infected bats did not show clinical signs of infection, but carried the virus, viral RNA, and antibodies against the virus. Otherwise, the life cycles of both viruses are still mysterious—we do not know how the viruses jump from reservoir hosts to humans.

From the index case, transmission of virus between humans occurs by direct contact with infected blood or other body fluids, usually involving health-care personnel and family members caring for sick patients. Transmission of Ebola virus has also occurred by handling ill or d*ad infected chimpanzees

Wild chimpanzee populations are also threatened by the Ebola virus, a deadly type of hemorrhagic fever that can infect humans. Ebola outbreaks in parts of West Africa are thought to have killed large numbers of chimpanzees since the mid-1990s, but exact figures have not been established. (Ebola is estimated to have killed more than 5,000 gorillas in the region.) Some outbreaks of Ebola among humans have been linked to contact with wild chimpanzees. Other research indicates that the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) likely developed from a chimpanzee retrovirus that infected people. The retrovirus then underwent mutations in humans, resulting in HIV. Research published in 1999 showed that HIV spread from chimpanzees to humans on at least three separate occasions in Central Africa, probably beginning in the 1940s or 1950s. Chimpanzees infected with the original retrovirus or with HIV do not develop AIDS, however.

The deadly Ebola virus has emerged as a new threat to gorillas. In late 2006 scientists reported that more than 5,000 gorillas in the Republic of Congo and in Gabon di*d from Ebola outbreaks from 2002 to 2004. The virus causes a hemorrhagic fever that can result in massive internal and external bleeding. Ebola can be spread by contact with bodily fluids and has killed more than 1,200 humans in Africa since 1976. Fruit bats are known to harbor the virus and may somehow have infected the apes, who then spread the disease among themselves. The virus combined with the hunting of gorillas for the bush-meat trade could threaten some gorilla populations with extinction.

The incubation period for Ebola and Marburg virus infection—that is, the time between exposure and the onset of illness—is typically four to ten days and is followed by abrupt onset of severe headache, fever, chills, sore throat, muscle aches, and weakness. These early symptoms are followed by vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and conjunctivitis (inflammation of the mucous membranes in the eye). There is usually bleeding from body openings and a rash, and evidence of abnormal blood-clotting that is associated with profound shock. Death often follows quickly, usually six to nine days after clinical onset of the disease. In a pregnant woman, abortion is a common consequence of infection, and when women who are dying of infection give birth, their infants invariably die. Convalescence is slow and marked by physical weakness, weight loss, and often by amnesia for the period of acute illness.

Sport Gist / Eden Hazard wins PFA young player of the year (Award)
« on: April 28, 2014, 05:14:04 PM »

Eden Hazard has been named the PFA Men's Young Player of the Year 2014.
Congratulations to Eden Hazard for winning the Pfa  young player of the year
The Belgian has had a spectacular season under returning manager Jose Mourinho. The 'Special One' has got the best out of the 23 year old in what is only his second season in English football.

With 13 goals from a player that doesn't as a striker it is easy to understand how fellow PFA members would see Hazard as the outstanding candidate in a shortlist full of quality players.

Hazard follows in the footsteps of some truly great players that have picked up the PFA Men's Young Player of the Year award in the past.

Hazard's manager Mourinho has also spoken of the change in mentality of Hazard and his ability and willingness to help out the team defensively.

iOS / Iphone was not official in Nigeria...but will soon be.
« on: March 29, 2014, 01:33:28 AM »

Just heard...and believe it on Monday, Apple is going to officially make iPhone available in Nigeria by April.
Meaning if you are currently using the iPhone, there is no known record of your phone in this region and as a result, accessing the warranty may be quite difficult should the phone go faulty.
But from April, according to Spaandonk, any Nigerian who purchases any brand of iPhone, from authorized dealers, would not only get and enjoy the warranty on his phone, but would have such phones recorded against his name.
He warned those who acquire devices from outside the country at a very cheap rate not to gloat because certain factors brought about it.
What that means is that anywhere in the world that particular iPhone is spotted, it could be easily traced back to the rightful owner. That's the beauty of the device.
But a major attraction of this new development is that like its iPad devices in Nigeria here, potential users who have salary accounts in Stanbic IBTC can acquire their iPhones at zero balance and pay in 12 months.Core Africa Group is Official distributors of Apple in 13 countries of the world.
Spaandonk said that unfortunately, majority of those phones are either sub standard or fake advising that people should always go for authorized re sellers when making purchases of devices.
Justifying the price differentiation, he noted that Import duties are heavy here even as other expenses are also made before bringing in goods into the country. So beg your government to reduce the importation rate, to get Iphone cheaper.

Android / NOKIA HAS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED THE RELEASE OF NOKIA NORMANDY
« on: February 24, 2014, 11:24:22 AM »

The long awaited Nokia andriod family is finally and officially out. The Nokia X, X+ and XL are called #Mx #MWC and #MWC14 the andriod Family.
All the phones are built on the open source Andriod OS. X and X+ has a 4inch screen, and Xl 5 inch IPS display. the phone is also said to be dual sim and has 2g-3g network. Card slot can be expanded to 32GB. X has internal memory of 4gb and 512 ram. Xl is the only one with flash and a bigger screen. And they all come in variety of colors, for the color freaks. If you going for this, don't expect the Tecno, Infinix or Samsung type Andrios, you are purchasing the Nokia type of Andriod.
Has wifi and wlan connection. They run on Andriod 4.4.2 (KITKAT)....so you can enjoy bbm, skype and other apps, a little problem i heard was, the store takes you to windows cloud not Google store.
So Nokia's trying to give Google distance in all they do, plus the fact that the menu tiles works like the Lumia's.... for the price...good news, it was built to meet low class need, a form of replacing the abandoned java OS. Should be between 15-20k or more, it's new so price should vary. Just hit me up on the spec, when you get yours.
