Post by: Timi Dapsin on December 11, 2013, 11:35:21 PM

Linus Torvalds, the Linux kernel guru has once said: ďIf Microsoft ever does applications for Linux it means Iíve won.Ē

Yesterday, Microsoft has released Microsoft Office, for Android. The Android version of Microsoft Office is just a frontend applied over Office 365, making Word, Excel and Powerpoint accessable only for the paid users. But there are many open-source or at least free Office alternatives for Android, including QuickOffice or Kingsoft, so it wonít be easy for the Microsoft Office to win popularity fast.

Since the Android powered devices sellings beat the Windows PCs, the Microsoft market became to shrink. The idea is simple, the smartphones and tablets running iOS / Android can now satisfy the userís basic need of computers, like browsing, listening to music, people realised they donít need expensive computers for their daily computer tasks.

The Android OS uses the Linux Kernel, so basicly Microsoft has created applications for Linux. So Linus Torvalds won.
