Apple is reportedly planning to launch its largest iPad yet, a 12.9-inch tablet, as early as next year.
According to a Bloomberg report, the company is working on an iPad significantly larger than its existing models, the 9.7-inch iPad and the 7.9-inch iPad mini. The publication cites sources close to the matter, who say Apple has been working with suppliers for over a year to develop the larger iPad.
A larger-sized iPad could have a bigger role in the workplace, too. It would align with the company’s latest efforts to expand at the enterprise level and grow its mobile device sales, thanks to a new partnership with IBM, which was announced in July. The companies will offer both iPhones and iPads to businesses, along with preloaded enterprise-specific apps.
