Latest development on Samsung twitter account was posted to tease an event on it's hosting at the IFA trade-show this year that makes it pretty obvious the Gear S3 will be announced. The timing lines up with what Samsung did in 2015, unveiling the Gear S2 just days ahead of the conference. On the release of the Gear S2, last year Samsung also teased an announcement after introducing a new Note in August.
According to the tweet which states: “Stay tuned for a timely innovation. August 31. Berlin.” This would put the reveal at Samsung’s Unpacked press event that it holds each year just ahead of the IFA trade-show in Berlin. Samsung launched its Gear S2 at the same event last year.
Rumors has it that Samsung will be unveiling a range of Gear S3 watches to offer variation across the line. These are rumored to be called the Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Explorer. All are expected to be round in shape and feature the rotating bezel like that of the previous model. Samsung hasn’t directly confirmed any details nor have they released any images of the upcoming smartwatch.
Details about all rumors will be cleared on 31 August when Samsung goes all out with its launch.
