Starting July 11, it was announced that the testing of a new Facebook download feature will occur among a small group of people in India, according to a Facebook email received by blog site TechCrunch.
The goal or aim of the new feature is to let people download the videos over a Wi-Fi connection so they can watch them without using any cellular data.
Users will be able to download videos for offline viewing, but initial testing will involve only a small group of people in India.
"Only original videos from public pages and member profiles will be available for download, and the owner of the video can opt out of the process. And no ads will be included in the download."-cnet
It's also should be noted that Facebook did not reveal plans for its video download feature beyond the initial testing stage.
